Sleeping Trouble?


Dear engaged couples,

Do you ever have trouble sleeping? If so, please keep reading! If not, I'm jealous because that used to be me!

All of a sudden, I have become this person that’s up for hours in the middle of the night. When I’m laying there, tossing back and forth, my irritation grows, which I’m sure just makes it even harder to fall back asleep.

Not too long ago, I sought out the help of my friends on Instagram because of these sleep problems. Well, I received so many pieces of advice that I wanted to share them with you in case you too, are having trouble like me. I know that when I was planning my own wedding this issue arose as well. I think our brains get so much on our mind that it’s hard not to shut it off when we need to the most. Your planning can consume your head space, but it shouldn’t. We all know how valuable sleep is, so I hope that while you’re planning your wedding, you are making sure to get adequate rest. 

The list:

  • tea
  • melatonin
  • lavender oil
  • lavender oil mixed with coconut oil
  • reading
  • stretching
  • notepad next to bed
  • yoga
  • mindfulness
  • no technology an hour before bed
  • no work a few hours before bed
  • wine

Honestly, I hadn’t thought about a lot of these and thank you to all of you who shared your ideas-- I'm finding them to be helpful! I’m hopeful this list will help you as well. If sleep is still escaping you, consider asking for help! Sometimes, even one planning session with a professional can help take a lot off your plate.
