A Doting and Details Couple: Meet Laisee and Luke
Laisee and Luke are wonderful individuals and I’ve loved getting to know them these past 6 months. Despite their local address, I met them on Google Hangout and instantly had a warm feeling. Their smiles are genuine. Laisee is filled with kindness and is sweet all the way through. Luke makes her laugh all the time and gets a few eye rolls from her too! Working with them to help guide them through their wedding planning journey has been a true pleasure and an honor.
Wedding Date: July 29, 2017
Meet Laisee and Luke
Laisee grew up in Cape Elizabeth and attended University of North Carolina, where she played field hockey. She worked with Michael Phelps for five years at Octagon Sports Agency as his Senior Client Manager. Later, she went on to become the Director of the Michael Phelps Foundation. In 2016, Laisee decided to follow her passion for working with children and is now a preschool teacher in Cape Elizabeth (the photos she posts on Instagram are the cutest!). She also serves on the board of The Girls Foundation of Tanzania, and has done charity work abroad at the Rift Valley Children’s Village in Tanzania and at Ocean Academy, a nonprofit high school in Belize.
Luke grew up in Cape Elizabeth as well, spending his summers lobstering in his hand-made skiff. After attending Georgetown University, he went into investment banking in New York. In 2009, he founded Luke's Lobster (www.lukeslobster.com), which was born from his love of Maine. In 2013, he started Cape Seafood to process the seafood. Luke serves on the boards of the Maine Lobster Marketing Collaborative and the Lobster Institute.
Their favorite morning beverage: Coffee, coffee and more coffee :)
How they met:
Laisee & Luke both grew up in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and played ice hockey together in high school. Luke even drove Laisee (and her date) to prom in 1999 - he got paid $20 from her mother! 15 years later, Luke and Laisee reconnected and their friendship grew into something more. Luke took Laisee lobstering on their first date, of course!
What they like to do:
In the summer, we love fishing and lobstering out on the boat. We love being on the water. In the winter, we like to go pond skating. We also enjoy traveling!
What they're looking forward to on their wedding day:
We are most looking forward to having all of our friends and family (from so many different places, times in our lives, various personalities) all together in one spot. We hope they can experience Maine and fall in love with it the way we have.
I’m absolutely looking forward to their special day in just a few weeks. Their guests will have a true coastal Maine experience with views of the ocean and all locally sourced food. It’s going to be a fun celebration!
