The Special Sauce for Save the Dates

 
 

Hey guys!

Lots of you are gearing up for your 2019 weddings and I wanted to pop in and briefly chat save the dates. They’re such a simple piece of mail (or email), yet they hold so much good stuff for friends and family!

Here are some quick tips on when to send them and what the heck to put on ‘em.

WHEN:

Six to nine months before your date. Seems simple, right? But here’s the thing, send them when you want. If you’re ready a year out, meaning you know your venue, your date, and you’ve got a website started, send them. If your wedding is a destination and you want to be sure friends and family have enough time to plan, send them. On the other hand, if you planned a last minute wedding, send them as soon as you know those details.

So what I’m trying to say is, send them when you know the important details and when you’re ready. There is no special sauce here.

WHAT TO INCLUDE:

your names

the date!! (don’t forget this one)

“Save the Date” or some rendition of that

location (name the city or the venue and the city)

website (if you have one)

“Invitation to Follow”
